PETA Condemns Use Of Live Pigs & Dogs As Crash Test Dummies In China
PETA has written to China’s Research Institute for Traffic Medicine to ask that it stops using live animals in “barbaric car-crash tests.”
The animal rights organisation has revealed that the animals, who are starved for 24 hours before the experiments, are forced into car seats. They are then deliberately driven into a wall “until their bodies are bloody, bruised, and mangled.” Once each animal has died, it is then dissected to determine cause of death.
“Pigs and dogs are fundamentally anatomically different from humans,” PETA points out. “Car companies figured out years ago that these kind of experiments are worthless and tell us nothing about a human experience in a car crash.”

Similar tests were conducted in the US until an extensive campaign by the animal rights organization led to the cruel practices coming to an end in 1993.
The vegan animal welfare group is now working to show the researchers that “no regulations exist there that would require such horrific experiments to be performed.”
