Los Angeles Lakers Team Up With Vegan Brand Beyond Meat
Basketball team the Los Angeles Lakers recently announced a new partnership with plant-based food company Beyond Meat.
The partnership is a part of the vegan brands “Go Beyond” campaign, which is designed to encourage more sports fans in the US to try plant-based eating.
“We are excited to team up with one of LA’s most iconic brands to engage our local community” announced Ethan Brown, CEO of Beyond Meat.
Brown hopes the new relationship will “further amplify awareness of our delicious plant-based meats that serve both body and planet.”
Tim Harris, President of Business Operations for the Lakers, also spoke of his excitement at the collaboration.
“Anytime we can align with a company that is looking to improve the wellness of our players, as well as our fanbase, we think it’s a very good fit and we look forward to a great relationship with Beyond Meat.”

Vegan Basketball Players
Lakers player JaVale McGee — who has followed a vegan diet since 2016 — has stated that he believes changing his food contributed to improved performance on the court.
“Shifting to a plant-based diet has been a literal game changer” claimed McGee.
“I’m excited to have my two favorite LA brands partnering to make plant-based eating not only delicious, but accessible” he said of the new partnership.
NBA players Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving have also spoken on the performance benefits of a plant-based diet.
