Vegan Ariana Grande Drops Starbucks Amid Black Lives Matter Controversy
As support for the Black Lives Matter movement was being shown around the world, Starbucks initially prohibited employees from wearing clothing at work that supported the cause.
The chain quickly reversed its decision following backlash online, with many customers threatening a boycott.
“In Response To This Historic Time”
“Our partners told us that they need a way to express themselves at work and we heard them,” Starbucks wrote on Twitter.
In a separate tweet, the global coffee chain wrote, “In response to this historic time, our store partners can also show support for the Black Lives Matter movement with their own t-shirts, pins and name tags.”
Despite Starbucks reversing the policy, Grande reportedly unfollowed the chain on Instagram, and posted a story of herself enjoying a coffee at a rival chain.

The vegan singer, songwriter, and actress has been showing her support for the Black Lives Matter movement online.
In an Instagram post last month, Grande urged her followers to support the cause, writing, “again, i ask my followers to please keep signing these petitions, making donations if u are able to, continue having conversations w family and friends about racism (overt and covert) and the senseless acts of murder that happen in this country far too often.”
