Sun Bum SPF 70 Sunscreen Lotion
Although it is important to get the correct SPF for your skin tone when it comes to sunblock, I always use the highest SPF possible when it comes to protecting my ink from the sun’s rays. Use your sunblock as normal (which you should do whenever you’ll be outside for more than a few minutes when it’s sunny) and with a stronger SPF sunscreen, pay special attention as to rub it in where needed. Sun Bum is my favorite brand when it comes to all forms of sun protection because their products are vegan, cruelty-freeoil-free, and paravent free. Formulated with Vitamin E and resistant to water, your skin will thank you later.
Hempz Pure Herbal Extracts Herbal Body Moisturizer
Keeping your tattoos moisturized is what will make them survive throughout your lifetime and it will help prevent them from looking dull. I moisturize two to three times a day (even more in the cold Winters!) using a Hempz body moisturizer. The lotion is sourced with shea butter and pure hemp seed oil, helping with any dryness, inflammation, and other skin ailments. I prefer the original scent, but there is also a sweet pineapple and honey lemon edition sss well as a green tea and Asian pear lotion. The Body Shop also sells a great hemp seed body lotion.
Lush Elbow Grease
With the tagline “Max out your moisture”, this lotion-esque bar certainly does what it is meant to. The bar moisturizes effectively enough that it is able to brighten and revive your tattooed skin, making it as soft and vibrant as ever. Extra virgin coconut oil, cupuacu butter, murumuru butter, and ylang-ylang oil are the stars of this product. I like using this product fresh out of the shower, after my daily body lotion. The bar also works on your body’s dryest skin such as your knees and elbows.
