We’re all over here working out like maniacs, at least for the first couple of weeks of January. It’s essential to fuel your body after a workout. This vegan almond butter post-workout vegan protein smoothie is packed full of the nutrients that your tired muscles crave and will prevent you from the dreaded two o’clock crash. Also, it tastes like dessert. Winning!

Ingredients

Servings- 2

  • 2 cups kale
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp. almond butter
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop Orgain creamy chocolate fudge protein powder (check with your doctor if you’re pregnant or nursing)

Instructions

  1. Put the kale and banana in a blender, then add the chia seeds and almond butter.
  2. Add the ice & liquids and blend until ingredients are combined.
  3. Add the protein powder and blend at a slow speed. Once combined, blend at a high speed until nice and smooth.
  4. Pour into glasses and serve.
