About Broth Bombs

No, this isn’t any fancy new spice mix that is mainstream. Rather, it is a standalone mix of spices and other seasonings that is there to replace the traditional into the updated cooking experience. Plant-based couple Andrew and Renee are expert in cooking one-pot, no-chop plant-based recipes that’s affordable and delicious at the same time. They came up with the idea of Broth Bomb- an all in one seasoning mix company after realizing the expensive seasonings that go unused and finally waste in pantries.

According to the couple, seasoning mix in grocery stores hasn’t changed in decades and hence their take on the matter which will reduce waste, confusion and of course disappointment. They aim to give ‘traditional-cooking’ a shortcut to taste and vibrant flavors we all love alongside providing a low-cost meal to people of every ability and age.

The Makers

Couple Andrew and Renee hail from different backgrounds. Andrew, an economics student had earlier ventured into entrepreneurship and he has hands-on expertise on a number of cuisines. Renee has an accounting background and is inspired by conservation, sustainability, and health.

Andrew Laurent told Raise Vegan that Broth Bombs are an exciting way to engade kids into cooking as well as eating something healthy, adding they are much like bath bombs, just that here it is spices and seasonings.

“We hope to get into grocery retail and become the first step for so many families looking to make the transition to eating plant-based. Tips on how to get more protein, iron, or veggies into their and their kid’s diets is a common question in vegan pregnancy and parenting,” said Andrew.

Putting some more insight into the versatility of Broth Bombs, the maker said-

“I’ve been cooking this way for nearly a decade, ever since becoming disabled. I’d just open up and put whatever canned and frozen veggies I had on hand into a large pot with whatever spices inspired me. Over the years I discovered some amazing hacks and recipes.

“With my diet I was able to successful heal a dozen polyps and a stomach tumor. So, I’ve been eager to share my recipes with the world.

“It was the birth of our daughter 2.5 years ago that made us finally pushed us to become fully vegan. And we’ve been involved member of vegan pregnancy and parenting since,” he told Raise vegan.

Broth Bombs are made of a variety of spice and seasoning, mixed with Sodium Bicarbonate, Salt, Potassium Carbonate, Citric Acid, Calcium Gluconate, and Vitamin C. The product has been tested to be used with beans and once you pop open a Bomb into the pot the baking soda reacts with citric acid and beans helping them soften, improving the texture. The meal is now easier to digest too. After the final launch, the makers will test the product with different ingredients.

Brand Responsibility

The company seeks to make the planet greener, healthier and cleaner, ‘one bowl of beans and veggies at a time.’ With their product, they’re looking forward to introducing a new way of affordable and fast cooking to cater needs of people of all ages and ability, without compromising on taste and health benefits.

They are not really seeming to provide this service. Please look at their Kickstarter and the lack of fulfillment that is occurring with a myriad of excuses. They raised $15,000 and have yet to ship, 2+ months after stated date of delivery.
