Diaper Changing Care Bags, A New Way To Help Out Other Parents.

by | November 19, 2018

The term ‘blowout’ rocks me to my core. It brings back traumatizing memories of scooping poop out from under the rolls in my baby’s neck, destroyed car seats, and the worst of them all ruined shopping trips when I’d realized I’d forgotten the diaper bag. Yet, a new type of gift, diaper changing care bags aim to help prevent that new parent stress.

Do you recall the California mom who left essentials in the bathroom at HomeGoods for another potential mama in need? A mother set up a pile of diapers and wipes on the changing table of a HomeGoods bathroom. Another mom shared a snapshot of the setup, which included a note from the good Samaritan, who refers to herself simply as “Sarah.”

“I once found myself in this exact spot with a newborn with a crazy blowout and NO DIAPERS or wipes,” Sarah wrote. “An unmitigated disaster, that was! Just in case you have found yourself in the same sort of pickle, I brought in some wipes and diapers to save the day. Good luck out there! Happy holidays!”

Well, it seems that this pay-it-forward act of kindness is becoming a trend.

Another diaper care package was left in a Target bathroom over the weekend.

Facebook user Joy Clyde was shopping at Target when she noticed something strange in the restroom: A care package left on the diaper changing station. Although Joy wasn’t in need of any of the diapering essentials, she shared a photo of them on Facebook, pointing out there are “good people everywhere.”

“This was in our local target store and thankfully I didn’t need but thought it was awesome. Good people everywhere,” she wrote as a caption to a photo of a Ziploc bag filled with diapers and wipes, and a note.

Attached to it was this anonymous note:

“We have all been there: forgot diapers, wipes, and your little one just exploded their pants!” it says. “Hopefully this helps! Take what you need or leave any extra! Remember, it takes an army to raise children, so let’s all help each other! Love, a mom who has needed help. Many times.”
