Easy Tropical Cocktail Recipes to Beat Your Winter Blues

by | January 18, 2019

Here are some easy tropical cocktail recipes to help you beat the winter blues.

Depending on where you live, winter can be the most depressing season of the year. If you’re not lucky enough to be traveling to the Southern Hemisphere within these coming months, the cold weather may have you feeling a little bit down. Have you instead thought about bringing summer to your living room? It’s possible! Put on The Sandlot, bring out your lawn chairs and your wide-brimmed hats, and don’t even think twice about blowing up a beach ball. These tropical cocktail recipes will make you feel like it’s July again.

Sometimes, you just need a spot of vodka in your life to lift your spirits. This Instagrammable and delicious concoction can be enjoyed even in January. Try this recipe for a Fresh Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini from Christina Cucina’s blog. Featuring vodka, triple sec, fresh strawberries, lemon and sugar, this easy-to-make drink will have you counting down the days until the sun comes back out. For an optional boost, add in either fresh mint, basil or rosemary to your drink.

With a slogan of “Eat Well, Eat Often”, The Roasted Root is a great online resource for all recipes, not just the alcoholic ones. Utilizing items such as fresh avocado, mint, cucumber, and full-fat coconut milk, this drink has a more extensive list of ingredients. This drink is also very customizable, the recipe calls for tequila but states that either gin or white rum can be used instead. Instead of adding honey like the recipe suggests, opt for agave for extra sweetness. This is my favorite of all tropical cocktail recipes available out there.

Maybe you don’t like getting caught in the rain as much as you like Piña Coladas, luckily enough, Alison from Loving It Vegan has the best solution for the latter. With only five ingredients (one of those being ice) this quick to make recipe can easily be modified to be more or less sweet. This recipe can also work without the freshest ingredients, so don’t be afraid to buy a carton of pineapple juice if you don’t feel like juicing yourself.
