Lush Launches a Range of Vegan Make-Up Brushes
“Say hello to 13 vegan brushes,” Lush, UK writes on their website. Looks like your quest for a premium collection of vegan-friendly make-up brushes leads to Lush. Not only will these brushes themselves contain vegan-friendly materials, the carrying case (here, a fabric wrap) will also be created from organic cotton, according to the company. Re-wrap is the maker of the organic cotton wrap for Lush’s vegan brushes.
According to Vegan Food and Living, the new vegan make up brushes have been designed by Meg Edwards, Lush’s in-house make-up artist. You can get your hands on the entire collection at a price of £225 ($285.35). Otherwise, the entire collection of brushes can be purchased individually with prices ranging from £7.50 to £32.
Vegan with Values
Starting from the glue, the entire brush collection is cruelty-free, as per the report. In par with the brand’s sustainability focus and values, materials like sustainably sourced biodegradable wood, recycled aluminum, and cellulose-based lacquer are utilized in the collection of make-up brushes.
Designer at Lush, Meg Edwards, said that they’ve settled on the finest possible collection after rigorously testing ‘an array’ of synthetic fibers and different brushes. She further stated- “We’re confident the range of brushes will deliver professional results. They’re easy to use and they have a luxurious, premium feel!”
Towards Betterment
Lush is against animal-testing making them cruelty-free and a 100% vegetarian beauty brand, however, some of their products do contain lanolin or honey. The company has a number of vegan products, and you can check the ingredients out if you’re planning to buy one. For example, products like ‘Cup ‘O Coffee’ scrub, ‘Sleepy’ shower gel, ‘Dream Cream’ body lotion, (and many others) are vegan.

Just recently, the company has announced plans to ditch eggs (free-range) from their products completely and have instead chosen to go with plant-based ingredients of same effectivity. “We can no longer, in good conscience, use an ingredient that we are unable to be transparent about because the truth is so unpalatable,” Lush said in a statement to Vegan Food and Living regarding ditching eggs.
