McDonald’s UK Has Released Vegan Happy Meal and Wrap
Ever dreamed of having a vegan Happy Meal? Or perhaps a delicious vegan wrap? McDonald’s has turned those dreams into reality.
The fast-food giant McDonald’s has jumped on the Veganuary bandwagon. McDonald’s in the UK has released a vegetarian Happy Meal and a spicy vegetarian wrap called The Spicy Veggie One, a first for the fast food giant. The wraps are vegan-friendly, but McDonald’s is unable to label them as such because of cross-contamination worries as the wrap is toasted on the same machine as their buns, which contain milk. McDonald’s UK Has Released Vegan Happy Meal and Wrap
McDonald’s UK says they made the decision to release a vegetarian option after a customer poll showed that thirty-three percent wanted more plant-based options, and now they are thrilled to be able to offer their customers a new choice.
The wrap consists of a breaded red pesto veggie goujon with spicy tomato relish, tomato, lettuce, and red onion. The Happy Meal version also has the breaded veggie goujon with ketchup and shredded lettuce. The goujon itself is made from yellow split peas, tomato, arborio rice, sundried tomato paste, red pepper, olive oil, herbs, and sugar.
The new meat-free option has had a mix of positive and negative reviews on social media. Of course Piers Morgan, the loud mouth that everyone loves to hate, just had to pipe in, blasting McDonald’s on

Heather Harris tweeted @ McDonald’s, expressing her disgust that they charge so little for dead animals but their bland wrap cost 3 quid. I think it’s safe to say this unhappy customer ‘won’t be getting one again!’
