Vegan Donuts Recipe

Ingredients

For Donuts

  • 250 grams flour
  • 25 grams vegan butter
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1 tsp nutritional dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • Vegetable Oil to fry the donuts

For glazing

  • 50 grams Vegan chocolate
  • 50 grams Icing sugar
  • Some colorful sprinklers

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing it with lukewarm soy milk. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix all the ingredients mentioned under the ‘For Donuts’ category and add activated yeast to it. Knead a soft dough and leave it undisturbed for about an hour.
  3. When the dough has doubled in size, knead it again. 
  4. Next up, flatten the risen dough, to about a centimeter in thickness, with a rolling pin.
  5. Cut out the donuts with the help of a donut cutter. If you do not have a cutter, a simple fine edged glass would do the same.
  6. Shallow fry all the donuts in vegetable oil.
  7. Glaze the donuts with melted chocolate or icing sugar.
