Starbucks To Launch Vegan Beyond Meat Sausage Sandwich
Global coffee chain Starbucks has announced it will add a Beyond Meat Sausage Sandwich to the breakfast menu in Canada.
Customers can enjoy the sandwich — which will be served with cheddar cheese and egg — from March 3. It can be made vegan by ordering without the cheese and egg.
Earlier this month Starbucks shared plans to put a meat-free option on the breakfast menu, but did not reveal who it would partner with.
“Plant-Based Patty”
“We will be introducing a breakfast sandwich this year with a plant-based patty both in US and Canada” said Roz Brewer, Starbucks COO.
“The combination of those pairings is significant for us in terms of how we think about what the customers [are] asking for us to develop.”

Vegan Beyond Meat
An online petition launched last year asked the coffee chain to put a Beyond Meat sausage sandwich on the breakfast menu — nearly 20,000 people added their signatures.
In the wake of the news that Starbucks is teaming up with Beyond Meat, shares in the plant-based food company increased in value by six percent.
The animal-friendly Sausage Sandwich also recently launched at Dunkin’ — contributing to the highest comparable sales growth the company has experienced in the last six years.
