Raley’s are rolling out a new dietary labelling system across their 129 stores. According to Entrepreneur, the supermarket chain is increasing its “Shelf Guide System” from 17 items to 23 items and will include icons on hot trends such as plant-based, products to help with gut health, sustainability and keto.
Speaking to Entrepreneur, Raley’s President and CEO Keith Knopf outlined the need to “be more transparent about the nutritional value and the content of the food and to help the customer make informed decisions”.
The labelling system will make shopping so much easier for vegans. The software, Raley’s will be deploying to create their labels will do all of the investigations on the consumer’s behalf. Meaning that consumers will be able to rest assured they are purchasing vegan-friendly products. A move that will be sure to cut down vegan shoppers time in the supermarket.

Sometimes I have time to look at all of the ingredients. But there have been times when I accidentally skip an ingredient and I end up wasting my money on a product with let’s say whey in it. With that being said, I’d LOVE if more grocery stores could do this. Consumers deserve transparency.
