The child was doing well when he was on a formula prescribed by a doctor that was appropriate for a vegan diet. For some reason, the couple decided to change his formula to a mashed-potato creation found by French on the internet. The parents did not give a reason as to why they changed their son’s formula. It appears that they could afford the recommended formula.
The baby has been in the custody of DCF since Wednesday and has reportedly gained half a pound from fluids.
Buskey and French are being held in Brevard County Jail.
