Vegan Food On The Menu As The BAFTA Awards Become More Sustainable
Guests at this year’s BAFTA ceremony will enjoy a vegan starter and dessert as the awards push to become carbon neutral.
As well as making plant-based changes to the menu, BAFTA has also asked attendees to consider the planet when choosing their outfits. This year will see the tradition of giving goody bags come to an end, with recycled plastic wallets being gifted to guests instead.
“Sustainability is very important to BAFTA, and we’re doing more than ever before” said a spokesperson for the event.
“The goal is that the EE British Academy Film Awards 2020 will be carbon neutral, working towards having a net positive impact on the environment.”

Vegan Awards Ceremonies
The sustainability push by BAFTA follows a recent trend of award ceremonies making eco-friendly changes.
Vegan actor Joaquin Phoenix — who has attended all of the aforementioned ceremonies — has praised the efforts of organizers to become more sustainable.
