  • 1 A loaf of bread, preferably not the freshest, so a day or two old
  • 1 large banana
  • .5 cup soy milk (any type of plant milk will work if you don’t want soy)
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup.
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. If you don’t have a super sweet tooth, drop that down to half a teaspoon.
  • 1 teaspoon of canola oil or any type of vegetable oil

Method For Vegan French Toast

  • Keep bread to the side, and mix the rest of the ingredients together until well blended.
  • Heat a pan on medium heat and if it’s not non-stick, put a little vegan butter on it to prevent sticking.
  • Dip a single slice of bread into the mixture and coat evenly (yes, it’s a little messy!) dip the other side, until you have a well covered piece of bread.
  • Place on the hot pan and fry for 3-4 mins on each side until well browned.
  • Put on a dish, top with sliced banana and maple syrup, serve and enjoy!
