Often the simplest of ingredients brings the greatest of dishes. When it comes to food, many simple dishes bring immense joy. One such recipe is ‘corn chaat’ or a corn vegan salad. Basically, a ‘chaat’ is a mixture of several ingredients, soft and crunchy with dry spices and a sweet and sour sauce as dressing. Have a look below for a sumptuous chaat recipe.

Indians love their ‘chaats’. These simple yet filling snacks are everyone’s favorite and I am sure all of you will enjoy as well.


  • Sweet corn: 2 cups; boiled
  • Cherry Tomato: 4-5; sliced in halves
  • Cucumber: 1 medium; diced
  • Black pepper powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Rock salt: to taste
  • Fresh basil: 2-3 leaves; chopped
  • Fresh lime juice: 1 tablespoon


This recipe is all about combining the ingredients. So just take a large bowl, mix the boiled sweet corn, cherry tomato, cucumber, basil, salt, cumin powder, pepper and lime juice. Check for seasoning. Add some more salt and lime juice if you want. Enjoy a healthy bowl of filling vegan salad in the summer and feel instantly refreshed.

P.S: This recipe can be altered in many ways. You can add many other raw veggies, or you could also add crushed vegan chips to make the dish even more crunchy.
