Audi’s Debut All-Electric SUV Could Feature Vegan Interiors
There is no dearth of automakers launching the best of the best in the market. Their best, however, is not necessarily the best for the ailing planet. Sustainability, for sure, isn’t a strong suit of many. Save a few automakers like Audi, which is working on vegan interiors to cater to the growing vegan demand and the environmentally-conscious masses. Know more here.

Audi Working on Their First Ever e-SUV Featuring Vegan Interiors
The use of leather in automobile interiors is quite a familiar practice. Rather it would be difficult to point out many vehicles without leather used as seat covers, and at times even on the cabin décor and more. Needless to say, there is a bloody trail behind leathers. Thankfully, automakers like Audi (and Tesla among a few others) are taking into consideration the needs of the time; a sustainable option that caters to the broader-base of the audience (implying the ever-growing vegan population).
In an exclusive interview with the auto media outlet Motor 1, an Audi executive revealed the upcoming, and reportedly the company’s first ever, all-electric SUV- e-tron. This vehicle is as futuristic as it sounds. Audi’s e-tron product manager Matt Mostafaei told the auto media outlet-
“We’ve had some customer requests for that. And definitely moving forward, we’re looking at all sorts of new materials, both for inlays, and trims, seats, and things like that are more environmentally friendly.”

Certainly, for a person who’d go for a premium SUV that is all-electric, there will be environmental consciousness driving the purchase, and they would expect the vehicle to be as sustainable as possible. Audi seems to note the same duly. Mostafaei referred to their earlier sustainable vehicle e-tron GT that employed things like fishing nets to derive the fully vegan interiors. He said, “If you remember our e-tron GT debut, it had a fully recycled, fully vegan interior,” adding “so that kind of shows where we’re looking and where we’re headed in terms of sustainability in the interior,” he said.
No Mess. It’s Going to be State of Art
With Audi’s vegan-friendly approach for their e-tron, thanks to the growing vegan community, the German car maker seeks to normalize the use of raw materials derived from abandoned or non-biodegradable sources like fishing nets and similar stuff, reports Motor1. To say the least, sourcing such materials isn’t going to be easy for the carmaker, implying the sources are still unknown. That said, the automaker certainly won’t settle for any less appealing (than leather) textures and finishes. Rather, Audi will strive to attain their excellent standard for whatever sustainable material they use. Matt assured-

“If we ever offered a material like that, I think it would be safe to say it would meet customer demand.”
