Beyond Meat Introduce Their New Meatless Sausage!
Beyond Meat have unveiled their newest creation. The meatless Beyond Sausage.
Beyond Meat, the company behind the Beyond Burger, have gone public with their newest addition to the meatless range and boy does it look good! The newest product, the Beyond Sausage has all the health benefits of a plant-based meat, but still has all the juicy satisfying taste and texture of a regular pork sausage. It was released for sale on December 18th and is available in three flavors; Original Bratwurst, Hot Italian, and Sweet Italian. Unfortunately, they are only available for a limited time at the Beyond Burger restaurant inside the Whole Foods store in Boulder, where, in 2016 the Beyond Burger was first launched, and sold out within the first hour.
In keeping with the trend of the Beyond Meat Beyond Burger, the sausage is made with a blend of pea, fava bean, and rice to provide the protein. The sausages get their ‘meaty’ color from trace amounts of beet, and the 100% plant-based casing is made from algae. They use coconut oil to give the sausage its ‘juiciness’.
When compared to a regular pork sausage the Beyond Sausage comes up on top every time.

- AND it contains no GMOs, gluten or soy.
Ethan Brown, CEO of Beyond Meat had this to say about the product; “I love Beyond Sausage first and foremost because it’s so truly enjoyable to eat but also because I see it as an advance in our team’s relentless march toward a perfect build of meat from plants. Though we aren’t there yet, I’m encouraged by the progress we’ve made with Beyond Sausage and look forward to hearing what the consumer thinks.”
Although it’s only available in one location right now, it is set to be popping up more places in early 2018. So watch this space for more exciting news!
