Hungry in Hungary? Try this All- Vegan Pastry Haven.
Dessert is my favorite part of every meal. In Europe, it is an absolute must when eating out and exploring new cities. News that a very aesthetic, cruelty-free eatery in Hungary has made its ways across social media this past month. What makes this new eatery special is that they are not a “restaurant”, but a glorious vegan pastry shop. Next time that you find yourself in Budapest, you won’t want to miss a trip to Plantmilkyway.

In a statement on Instagram earlier this month, Hungarian Plantmilkyway announced the opening of their shop,
“The newest gluten-free, vegan pastry shop opens on 25th of March in the heart of Budapest, close to Fóvám tér… Our motto is that a look and taste of a healthy dessert can give the same experience.”
The shop makes their vegan status loud and clear on social media, promoting the fact that a healthy lifestyle does not mean that one must live their life without delicious treats. They also cater to those with certain allergies, they have options including raw, gluten-free, nut-free, and oil-free.

The veganism movement in Hungary, and more specifically in Budapest has truly blossomed in recent years. Many restaurants offer plant-based options, even if they themselves are not a specifically plant-based restaurant and this is seemingly for health-related reasons. A quick search on Happy Cow revealed that there are currently 172 listings in Hungary (119 in Budapest, specifically) for eateries with plant-based options.

This adorable, millennial pink raspberry mousse with a pistachio crust it and raspberry jelly is exactly what I need in my life (and for my Instagram feed) It is free ofadded sugar, gluten, and soy and not to mention, it is absolutely free of any and all animal products!
Plantmilkyway will be open from Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and they will be closed on Sundays as of their opening which took place this past March 25th. I think a trip for me to go to Hungary is in order! What about for you?
