Sweet, Easy Vegan Strawberry Jam With Chia Seeds

Love vegan Strawberry jam? Well, here’s an easy recipe to make one at home!

Strawberries are my favorite fruit, while in the season I love enjoying them in everything from fruit-filled Spring rolls to sugary, delicious vegan dessert crepes. While the harvest is still strong and producing the most delicious batches of strawberries, why not preserve them in a way that will allow you to enjoy them for a little bit longer and in a new set of ways.

Making jam at home is actually super easy to do and once you get the hang of it, you could turn all of your favorite fruits into jams to enjoy on vegan croissants or your favorite bagel. This recipe can easily be adapted to make blueberry, raspberry, or blackberry jam as well depending o your taste. Do you want to learn how to make amazing vegan strawberry jam?   • 2 cup strawberries
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tsp water

  1. Begin by preparing your strawberries. You want to remove the stems and the easiest way to do this is by using a thin reusable straw to poke out the stem instead of trying to chop it of and wasting a lot of fruit. Chop the strawberries and measure out 2 cups of the prepared strawberries.
  2. In a small saucepan on low-medium heat, add in the strawberries with 1-2 tsp of water and get them simmering. As they begin to heat up, use a strong fork to mash them in the pan. Once mashed thoroughly, add the lemon juice and vanilla extract to the mixture.
  3. Keep stirring and mashing the mixture until it thickens and bubbles and you get what looks like jam. This process should take about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Add in the maple syrup and chia seeds, mix well, and carefully transfer to a properly sterilized mason jar.
  5. Let sit on the counter covered with a paper towel until it is completely cooled before transferring to the fridge where you can store for up to one week. Enjoy!
