Holding a sign that read “YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO, YOUTUBE DOMINION” the activists were filmed mourning the meat products for sale in the supermarket.

Shoppers at the supermarket attacked the activists calling them “idiots” before staff requested the activists leave.

The video was live streamed on Facebook with the description “Speak out in Woolworths, telling the consumers the truth and that the BLOOD IS ON THEIR HANDS WWW.WATCHDOMINION.COM FOR THE TRUTH”.

According to 7 News, the protest was organized by vegan activists group Direct Action Everywhere (also known as DxE). Ms. Peterson’s video has gone viral after being picked up by 7 News Perth and has been viewed over 11,000 times.

A Tense Time For Perth Vegans

Tensions have been rising in the Perth activist community with heated disputes between farmers and activists. Earlier this year, activist James Warden was shot at by farmers after a verbal altercation. Warden, faced court last week, accused of trespass and stealing a calf worth $1,500.

What inspired you to go vegan? Was it a direct action like this, or something more passive? Do you think this type of activism is effective? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
