Aera- Luxury Vegan Shoe Brand by Fashion Industry Veterans, Launched
According to the AERA website, sustainable fashion is reimagined. The trio fashion industry experts launched the luxury line of shoes, believing “doing good is as important as looking good.” The company makes ‘timeless’ designs with their materials ethically sourced and crafted, making sustainable fashion ‘the new normal’. Speaking to Forbes, Tina Bhojwani stated that the world doesn’t need another new shoe company, adding “but we wanted to create one with a strong voice towards protecting our environment.”

The certified carbon-negative brand -AERA seeks to combine luxury with sustainability, because “at the end of the day, the consumer wants a great product” and AERA has a no-compromise-to-fashion approach, according to the former D&G president, who is at the center and forefront of the company.
More than Just Design

One approach for this shoe brand is that their concern is more than solely fashion and design. Environmental impact plays a huge role in shaping AERA and its products. AERA writes on their website– “Our ultimate goal is to create shoes with zero-to-positive impact on the environment, and it’s the driving force behind every decision we make.”
The same is evident in the fact that AERA works with SCS Global Services; a third-party leader in sustainability certifications. The report is available on the AERA website. AERA commits to adapting to the advancing eco-friendly materials and process in their shoe-making as they become available.

Since AERA shoes are all handcrafted by expert shoemakers in Veneto, the workers were taught to use the tried and tested leather craftsmanship into creating shoes absolutely without leather, reports Forbes.
Towards Sustainability

AERA isn’t the only vegan venture in today’s fashion scene. More than ever, the fashion industry is inclining towards sustainability and to achieve that, going vegan is often the first resort. According to Forbes, Tina Bhojwani’s research claims the fashion industry as the second most polluting industry in the world.
Tina and the team’s efforts via AERA come in-line with many other fashion houses like Stella McCartney, who are striving to make a positive impact on the planet, uncompromising the dynamics of fashion. What do you think about the new vegan shoe brand? Let me know your thoughts in comments.
