Hamilton Breaks Record With British Grand Prix Win
Tailed by Finnish competitor Valtteri Bottas, the British pro-racer and plant-based athlete broke the record for most home wins on Sunday, while claiming his 79th Formula 1 win overall. Behind Bottas and Hamilton was Charles Leclerc, the Monégasque athlete who finished in third.
“Amazing”
Despite consistently outstanding performance in his sport, the athlete seems to take no victory for granted.
“I have done so many races and you would think I’d get used to it,” Hamilton said.
“But this felt just as amazing as the first win I ever had here in 2008.”
Plant-Based Athlete
Hamilton went public with his plant-based diet in 2017 and has used social media to raise awareness and share updates on his progress. He took to Instagram to post about the mistreatment of animals last year, and just this May made a post fighting misconception about protein and a vegan diet.
